Restoring your data from a copy
Instead of using the backup utility in Payroll Pro to make your backups, you might have just copied your payroll data folder(s) to a memory stick, CDROM or other device.
If this applies to you, please see the following instructions.
Note - If you have backed using the Backup Utility in Payroll Pro, please click here to return to those instructions.
The data for Payroll Pro is usually in a sub folder to the PayPro folder.
For example, a company name of ABC Limited might be in the folder called ABCLTD, and the company XYZ Limited might be in the folder XYZLTD as follows:
C:\PayPro\ABCLTD - the sub folder ABCLTD contains all the data for ABC Limited
C:\PayPro\XYZLTD - the sub folder XYZLTD contains all the data for XYZ Limited
If a copy of the folder ABCLTD is on your memory stick or other device, you can simply copy this to the PayPro folder so that it becomes a subfolder of PayPro as in the examples above. Then when you run Payroll Pro, it will automatically find the data in the sub folders.
This method will only work if the information was simply copied, it will not work if the data was backed up using the Backup option in Payroll Pro (click here for that option), and will not work if some other backup method was used such as WinZip or another program.
